At Ransom Memorial Hospital, the Accounting
Department encompasses many areas including Payroll, Accounts
Payable and General Accounting. Payroll involves maintenance of
the time and attendance system, preparation of paychecks every
two weeks, and the reporting of tax deposits, quarterly reports
and annual reports to the federal and state governments. A new
service offered by the payroll area is the direct deposit system.
The Accounts Payable staff is responsible for processing invoices
and claim vouchers daily and preparation of checks on a weekly
basis. They also have to keep track of debt schedules, fixed assets
and miscellaneous expenses.
General Accounting includes maintaining a system
to record all financial transactions of RMH, preparation of financial
reports at least monthly, interpreting the results to administration,
the Board of Trustees and department directors and also oversees
departmental budgets.
