At Ransom Memorial Hospital, we take our role as a contributing member of the
community very seriously. Our employees are active members of
many civic and service organizations, and we contribute to community
events and services.
A major concern is the health and wellness of residents of our
service area. We offer a variety of health forums, health fairs,
classes, speakers, special programs and screenings geared toward
prevention and detection of health-related problems. RMHealth
Forums are educational programs offered free to the community
to educate and inform them of the many health issues that face
us today. The Children’s Health Fair and Adult Health Fair
are specifically designed to offer free and reduced screenings
to the community during the year.
PATH is another service offered to the community by Ransom Memorial
Hospital. PATH (Personal Actions To Health) is a free program
designed to enhance the lives of senior citizens through education
and activities that relate to diet, health and exercise. Call
785-229-8458 to find out more information on PATH.
Diabetes Support Group
The group discusses issues related to the diagnosis and management
of diabetes. You’ll learn about the latest treatments, medications,
nutrition and lifestyle changes. Sessions are free and feature
experts in diabetes such as physicians or representatives from
American Diabetes Association. Meetings are the third Monday of
each month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Ransom Memorial Hospital.
They do not meet in December, July & August. For more
information, please contact at 785-229-8458.
All people seeking care at RMH receive care, regardless of their
ability to pay. Charity care and the unpaid costs of public programs
such as Medicaid and Medicare use a portion of the funds set aside
for community benefits and services.
