Every year, we have new patient safety initiatives. This
year, our emphasis is on prevention measures for central
line related infections. Learn your role and new requirements pertaining to the care of patients
with central lines.
At the end of this course,
the participant will be able to:
- - Verbalize which type of central line is best suited to the individual patient needs and
the role of the “new generation” of devices.
- - Apply a basic understanding of care, management and complications of IV lines,
PICC lines, & central lines.
- - Describe the role of the nurse in preventing hospital-acquired infections related
to central lines.
All Classes are held in RMH Conference Room A
from 8am to noon.
